You may be thinking, “What’s going on with the building?” It is all still happening behind the scenes, but there is progress. Today, we meet with the contractor and the architect for what is called a “page turn” meeting. That means we go through all the design plans page-by-page (and there are many) to make sure all that what we want is there before the final design documents are drafted and submitted for permits.
Once the design documents are submitted, we can expect the permit process to take up to three months. So we are still looking at late June or early July for the construction to begin. There is waiting involved, but it is all part of the order of things.
Meanwhile, let me encourage you to establish practices that remind you of the need and the purpose of the expansion. Times like last Sunday – with an overflowing attendance – are easy reminders of the need. God continues to bring people to Himself and to us.
The purpose of the expansion is…
“…so that as grace extends to more and more people
it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:15
Please keep the building expansion and Growing Grace before the Lord in prayer. This expansion is His work and we must look to Him for His provision. Let us all be faithful stewards and enthusiastic participants in what our Redeemer is doing among us and through us.
