Where Can I Serve?

Loving God - loving people

Being intentional about loving God means being intentional about loving others.

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Philippians 2:5-7

We have a number of ministries through which you can serve within the church family and within the community around us. In addition, these service opportunities can be great opportunities for you to get to know others in the church better.

These opportunities are the most common, but not the only ways you can serve. We are always open to new ways to serve the church and our community. Contact the Director of Outreach for more information.

BARNABAS. This group gives individuals the opportunity to encourage those who are not able to get out due to illness or disability by sending cards, making visits and taking time to sit and listen.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY. There are multiple opportunities for teachers and helpers to serve in the children’s ministry from nursery through grade five on Sundays and midweek.

HOSPITALITY. This group hosts scheduled church activities that provide food or refreshments. Individuals take part in decorating, setup, food prep, managing supplies, communication.

SAMARITAN. The Samaritan Meals Ministry coordinates meals and hosting on an as-needed basis for unscheduled events. Individuals typically serve 4-6 times per year.

GREETERS. Extend the right hand of fellowship to visitors and attenders by welcoming them into fellowship with the Church. Greeters direct visitors, answer questions and help create a warm and orderly atmosphere conducive to worship and teaching.

MEDIA MINISTRY. Care for the technical needs of the church during services and special events. Individuals serve on a team that oversees video/audio presentations and assists in the use of equipment in classes as needed.

MUSIC. Provide music during our weekly services and special events. Individuals have the opportunity to participate in group presentations throughout the year or audition to serve as part of the Music Ministry Team.

TAKE THEM A MEAL. Reach out to families with new babies, in crisis, or difficult situations that arise. Meals are delivered to the home and coordinated online.

PRAYER PARTNERS. Become committed to praying daily for the church. Individuals may sign up to receive email requests on a weekly basis or a monthly calendar of ministry activities.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH. Individuals participate in serving our community in local schools, neighborhoods and volunteer organizations. Opportunities may be on going commitments such as the Samaritan Soup Kitchen, Good News Clubs or one-time special events.

GRACE TO GO. Be part of a hands-on outreach to the community providing home maintenance, repair, and upkeep to the elderly, disabled or victims of disasters.

ADOPT-A-STUDENT. Many college students adopt Grace as their home church while attending local colleges. Families can have a lasting impact on a student by providing home cooked meals, encouragement and support during the school year.
