  • James- Dwight Ball (Library)
I think we would have liked to know James, he is very practical and gets down to where theology meets life. His letter was written around 40 A.D. and addressed to the diaspora, Jews who had been scattered, so most of those who read or heard it grew up in the culture and teaching of Old Testament Law. Too often they saw God’s blessings and favor as a result of one’s obedience; the greater the effort the greater the reward. Doing good works was a duty. James brings a great message of joy and teaches how we can express our gratitude to God through our faith, and by pouring out generosity and works in response to God’s favor and love for us.

  • Life Together: A Culture of Discipleship- Bobby Locklear (Room 5A)
How do we practice a culture of discipleship? We will explore what a culture of discipleship can be like at Grace and how you can be a part of it.

11:00 am - 12:00 p.m.

  • Good and Angry - Nathan Carmichael (Library)
Something that matters to you just isn’t right. First you see the problem, then you feel it. It starts with a rush of adrenaline and often a rush of words, but it ends with an overwhelming sense of irritation that impacts how we talk to those with whom we live and work. We know anger affects us negatively, but we don’t know any other way to respond when life goes wrong. Through a Biblical exploration of the roots of anger, moral judgement, and righteous response, we will explore how to fruitfully and honestly deal with anger by looking in a surprising place: God’s own anger.

  • Hebrews - Ernie Hodges / Adam King (Room 3)
Hebrews will explore how Christ fulfilled the Old Covenant and the superiority of the New Covenant in which Christians now live.
