I am on a continual quest to understand the needs of Christians and what is necessary to have taught and preached in the church. Now, as a church where God’s Word sets the agenda, I recognize that God’s self-disclosure understands our needs better that we do and reveals them to us. That is why we are committed to the verse-by-verse systematic exposition of Scripture.
Awhile back, after numerous encounters with church folks and the broader community, I contemplated the questions, “What’s so good about being a Christian? Do we know? Do we sense it? Can God’s people answer if asked?” That led me to write down the reflections that are now published in my latest book, Surpassing Worth: Contemplating the Unmatched Privilege of Knowing Jesus Christ.
This book is intended to be a resource for the church – for people who are in ministry – people who are following Jesus by helping others follow Jesus. Get a copy of it to give to a FRAN who is asking questions about your faith and Christianity; read and study it with a new believer for their discipleship; go through it together in your Care Group, or for one month progress through the twenty-eight chapters in your quiet time to refresh your delight in the Lord Jesus Christ and His matchless grace.
